The course is open to all in the horticultural
industry and is the normal entry level qualification appropriate
to students.
The standard is met by a portfolio of Practical
and Knowledge Evidence. After completion of the course the candidate
will be competent to carry out duties unsupervised.

This qualification will take between l to
2 years to achieve.
The theory work and lecture attendance are confined to the winter
period.
Classes normally run from October until March. These usually consist
of 1 day per week day release at GOSTA
Practical requirements are met from the workplace. Site visits occur
throughout the year.

The course covers 7 units and 14 elements depending on the option.
Options at level 2 include Landscaping and Sports Turf Maintenance.
