Course: Landscaping - SCQF Level 5

Description:

The course is open to all in the horticultural industry and is the normal entry level qualification appropriate to students.

The standard is met by a portfolio of Practical and Knowledge Evidence. After completion of the course the candidate will be competent to carry out duties unsupervised.

Duration:

This qualification will take between 1 to 2 years to achieve.

The theory work and classroom attendance are confined to the winter period.

Classes normally run from October until March. These usually consist of 1 day per week day release at GOSTA.  Practical requirements are met from the workplace.  Workplace visits occur throughout the year.

Content:

The course covers 9 units.   Topics such as Health and Safety, Establish Plants Outdoors, Site preparation, Use and Maintain Equipment  and Machines, Maintain Plants Outdoors, Maintain General Amenity Turf.
