1. What is a Modern Apprenticeship?
It is the opportunity to gain a qualification and practical skills which are relevant and developed by the Sportsturf industry. In order to undertake a Modern Apprenticeship you will be employed and earning a wage throughout the duration of your training.

2. Who are Modern Apprenticeships for?
Modern Apprenticeships are for those who are 16 + years and capable of achieving a Vocational Qualification.

3. Are there entry qualifications to the course?
In order to commence training in Sportsturf you would require to hold 3 Standard Grades (English, Maths and 1 other subject at band 3 or above)

4. What does the Modern Apprentice qualification consist of?
You will be required to complete the SVQ level 2 in Sportsturf, the SVQ level 3 in Sportsturf and 2 industry specific qualifications.

5. Who pays for this training?
The course can either be paid by your employer or it may be possible for us to access funding from Skills Development Scotland to pay for it.

6. Do I need to be in employment to be a Modern Apprentice?
Yes. In order to complete a SVQ and MA you will need to be in full-time employment. The practical skills you gain in an everyday work environment are an imperative part of your experience.

7. Do I need to attend College?
The training Gosta Training delivers for the Knowledge and Understanding is taught in a classroom situation over the winter months. You would attend on a Day Release basis.

8. How long does training take?
A modern Apprenticeship would normally take about 3 years.
